cell phone, LED lights
"pink blue" began as a reflection of mounting habits accumulated during a year and a half living alone. inspired by a found reversible comforter(pink on one side, blue on the other), this bedding became the backdrop for "pink blue" explorations. using LED lights, each scene was illuminated with soft hues from pink, reds, purples, and blues to create images of tranquility and comfort featuring the everyday objects in which I found solace. "pink blue" evolved into an outlet to explore the restorative and subtle nature of color and light therapy on my own wellness. despite my knowledge of color theory, I was surprised I found such immense healing and safety in controlling the palette of my environment. I could reflect my current moods, the moods I was working to discard, or the moods I aspired to embody.
throughout "pink blue" I have found a number of color frequencies soothing and fulfilling for their own reasons. at first deep reds as dim as could be, then the surreality of cool flooding hues. I love the way blue illuminates even the deepest of shadows, but most recently and most consistently I have found myself in middle ground. i ebb and flow in the pink blue
